Alfilo Brands‘ newest project for The British Museum is about Alice In Wonderland Blind Boxes. In collaboration with Bluepiper Studio, they bring this new and stylish product. Alice in Wonderland is a popular story nowadays, having over 150 years of history.
The British Museum houses John Tenniel’s original illustrations of the book. They utilize this well by tapping into the IP’s worth. They have released a number of Alice-theme products in the past. This time they are releasing the Alice in Wonderland Blind Box Series for the Chinese market in a partnership with Bluepiper Studio.
This series, designed by South Korean designer Jibi, are seven key characters from Wonderland. These characters are put into mystery boxes and can be drawn from by the consumers after being bought. The Alice in Wonderland Blind Box Series was announced on the crowdfunding platform Modian, when finished on the 30th of September, they reached 285.61% of their original goal. In the next few weeks, the first toys will reach the consumers.
Bluepiper Studio is based in Canada, they also assisted the British Museum with their Hello Kitty event from earlier this year.
The British Museum has a strong history in using cultural IP to reach and connect with Chinese cultural audiences. This project gets it right, using Jibi’s designs, the trend of blind boxes and a notable story known across the world.
