A housing cooperative organized around the principles of commoning

Housing cooperative De Nieuwe Meent gaat ca. 40 (sociale) build, live in and manage rental homes on the Archimedesplantsoen in the Watergraafsmeer. The sustainable building will house approximately 15 independent social rental homes (maximum € 737)  and 5 residential groups with approximately 25 non-independent rental homes spread over the top floors of the tower. There will also be a common living room for all residents and catering facilities that can also be used by the neighbourhood. dNM is a housing cooperative fully organized around the principles of commoning.

Three housing cooperatives were in the race for the final selection procedure for the pilot location Archimedesplantsoen issued by the municipality of Amsterdam. Housing cooperative De Nieuwe Meent was eventually selected. Zephyr Real Estate supported the residential group with the financial business case during the final selection phase and carried out project management to realize this special initiative.
